1969년 그룹이 조직되어 현재까지 이어진 6인조 그룹 Poco는
그동안 많은 멤버 교체속에서 진통을 겪었지만
초창기 당시의 음악성에는 아직도 변함없는 끈질긴 그룹이라 할 수 있지요
이들의 현재 멤버로는 페달 스틸기타를 맡고 있는 러스티 영과
리드 보컬을 맡고 있는 폴 콧튼이 그룹의 주축이 되고 있는데
초창기부터 현재까지 남아있는 유일한 멤버는 러스티 영입니다
포코의 멤버는 당시 가장 유능한 뮤지션들로만 구성되었는데,
후에 Eagles, Loggins & Messina, Souther Millman, Furay Band 등으로
각자 자신들의 개성을 살려 나갔지요
포코의 감미롭고도 우아한 화음은
초창기부터 현재에 이르기까지 변함없이 계속되고 있는데,
그것은 바로 Poul Cotton이 조금도 흔들림이 없는
정통적인 컨츄리에 바탕을 둔 노래를 하기 때문입니다
그룹의 멤버가 바뀌고 10여년이 넘는 세월이 흘렀지만
기풍있는 컨츄리 록의 멋은 조금도 변할줄 몰랐고
시간이 흐름에 따라 완숙하고 더욱 다양해지고 있는데,
이들의 사운드는 현재 고전적인 컨츄리 록 그룹으로서
가장 대표적이라고 할 수 있지요.
과거를 회상하면서 현재를 간파하는
이들의 사운드 변화에서는 더욱 친근미를 느낄 수 있으며,
전통적 칸츄리 록 그룹의 명성을 유지하고 있습니다
