인기 있는 연주자였던 John Mayall은 자신의 밴드인
The Bluesbreakers 에 영입한 뮤지션들로 인해 더욱 유명해졌지요
몇몇 영향력 있는 기타리스트들,
특히 에릭 클랩튼, 피터 그린, 믹 테일러 등을 후원하면서
간접적으로 록 음악 발전에 막대한 영향을 끼쳤습니다
동료들보다 약 10년 정도 연장자였던 메이올은
열렬한 지지자들에게 고집스런 성품과 반상업적인 자세로
