The Kid and the Wolf
아이와 늑대
A KID standing on the roof of a house, out of harm's way,
saw a Wolf passing by
and immediately began to taunt and revile him.
The Wolf, looking up, said,
"Sirrah! I hear thee: yet it is not thou who mocking me,
but the roof on which thou art standing."
Time and place often give the advantage
to the weak over the strong.
한 아이가 어떤 집 지붕에 서서,
자신이 안전하다고 생각하여, 늑대가 지나는 것을 보고서
비웃으면서 욕설을 퍼붓기 시작했다.
늑대는, 위를 쳐다보며 말했다,
"이봐!, 나는 다 듣고 있어:
하지만 나를 조롱하는 자는 네가 아니라
네가 서있는 지붕일 뿐이야."
때와 장소가 때로는 약자에게 강자보다 유리함을 줄 수 있다.
