주로 네덜란드를 무대로 60년대부터 활동했던 블루스 연주자.
당시 미국이나 영국뿐 아니라 유럽 내륙 지역에도 블루스의 영향력이 미쳤는데
일명 '베네룩스 블루스 씬'의 중심에 섰던 밴드입니다
활동은 1967년
Oscar Benton Blues Band란 이름으로 시작했고,
데뷔 당시 'I Feel So Good'이라는
흥겨운 곡을 히트시켰지요
1940년대에 처음 만들어진 이 곡을 Oscar Benton은
1973년에 발표했지만
당시에는 별다른 호응을 이끌어내진 못했다가.
1981년 Alain Delon이 주연한 프랑스 영화
'Pour La Peau D'Un Flic' (형사 이야기)에
이 곡이 쓰이면서 선풍적 인기를 얻게 됩니다
프랑스는 물론, 이탈리아, 불가리아,
일본, 이스라엘, 모로코, 네덜란드 등지에서
차트 수위를 장식했고
해당 지역에서는 Oscar Benton의 앨범이 재발매 되었지요
