The Zombies 는 1962년 고등학교 친구들을 중심으로 창단하여
런던의 신문사 주최 콘서트에서 우승하여 DECCA와 계약하고
Argent 작곡의 She's Not There로 64년 영국과 미국에서
모두 힛트하여 주가를 올렸던 밴드 입니다
60년대 중반 비틀즈나 비치보이스를 제외하고는
이들만큼 화려한 멜로디를 직접 작곡하여
사용한 밴드는 그리 흔치 않았지요
그러나 당시 시대의 흐름에 따라
미국으로 진출한 그들은 높은 음악성에도 불구하고
상업적으로 실패하고 맙니다
그러나 이들은 상업적 실패에도 불구하고
당시의 여러 밴드들에게 상당한 영향을 끼쳐
Byrds 와 Herman's Hermits, Dave Clark Five,
Paul Revere & The Raiders, Kinks 등
많은 밴드들이 그들의 음악적 요소를 차용하였고
특히 싸이키델릭한 Keyboard 는
많은 BAND가 따라하였지요
